Water and electricity, is the unit safe?

Yes, if the water runs out, there is both an electronic and mechanical means of shutting the power off.  The first is the electronics.  In the water reservoir there are two sensors which work by ion exchange.  If there is no water, the circuit is broken, power to the heating element is shut off and the unit will stop heating.

In the second instance should the electronics not cut the power off there is an anti dry-boil control fitted to the back of the water reservoir.  The elevated heat of the un submerged heating element causes the anti dry boil control to cut the power off.  As the element cools the control is reset automatically and with the addition of water the unit can be used again immediately.

How can I clean the unit?

The unit can be simply cleaned with warm soapy water.  It is important that non abrasive cleaners or products containing bleach are used.  In our experience an excellent and natural alternative is pure, natural tea-tree oil, diluted with 5 parts water.

We live in a hard water (high calcium) area, how can I clean the water pot?

We recommend distilled water, with just a dash of tap water (to help the water sensors).  The user can use tap water, but descaling must be undertaken after every 30 uses.  Descaling can be done with any mild acid, in Japan they use disteilled vinegar, or lemon juice.  There are also a number of extremely effectivce commercially available products.  In each case, the reservoirs need to be left for a couple of hours.  After cleaning the water must be completely removed.  An easy way to do this is to remove the water by use.

What Aromtherapy Oils can I use for AromaSteam?

Any pure essential oils can be used.  It is important however that the user uses the oil receptacle and not added directly to the water reservoir (oils and water don't mix!).  AromaSteam does not recommend the addition of scented emulsions to the water reservoir.

AromaSteam One Year Limited Warranty

What this warranty covers:  AromaSteam warrants your product against all defects in materials and workmanship.  The Warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the unit and terminates upon transfer of ownership.  The 12 month warranty period shall be shortened to 6 months if the unit is used in a commercial, institutional or rental application.

For how long:  One (1) year from the date of the original purchase.

What we will do:  AromaSteam at our discretion will either repair or replace your product free of charge.

What we will not do:  AromaSteam will not cover any consequential loss associated with product failure.

What you must do to maintain this warranty:  Contact your original Dealer, with your receipt and serial number which is clearly printed on the rear of the base of the unit.

Warranty Exclusions:  Warranty does not apply to your product under any of the following conditions:

1. The serial number has been removed or modified.
2. Your product has been subjected to misuse or damage.  The warranty excludes any damages resulting from: improper installation, unauthorized repairs or lmodifications, improper use of power supply, dropped product, failure to maintain or use as recommended in "The Owners Manual", transportation damage, theft, abuse, misuse, neglect, vandalism or environmental conditions.
3. If the product experiences damage that is excluded from coverage, the consumer will be responsible for all repairs, travel and part costs in addition to any applicable duties, taxes and brokerage fees.

To obtain service: 

1. Contact your supplying Dealer to report your issue including as many details as possible, you must have your serial number ready.
2. AromaSteam USA LLC will review the issue and send out replacement part as necessary.
3. AromaSteam USA LLC will arrange at the customers convenience for a local engineer to come to your premises to replace the broken part.

LIMITATION OF WARRANTY:  EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED HEREIN, YHOU ARE ACQUIRING THE PRODUCT "AS IS" AND "WHERE IS", WITHOUT REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY.  AROMASTEAM USA LLC SPECIFICALLY DISCLAINS ANY REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THOSE CONSERNING THE MERCHANTABILITY AND SUITABILITY OF THE PRODUCT FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.  AROMASTEAM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR MISUSE OF THE PRODUCT.  THE RESPONSIBILITY OF AROMASTEAM IS LIMITED TO THE REPLACEMANT OF A DEFECTIVE PART OR A REPLACEMENT UNIT.

The above limitations or exclusions shall be limited to the extent they violate the laws of any particular state.
