The scent is soft, balsamic-woody, sweet and resembles vetiver, sandalwood, and atlas cedarwood. It has a deep, old heartwood undertone unduplicated in the industry.

The tree that provides this, difficult to attain, oil is called Muhugwe by the locals in Uganda and Kenya. The beautiful hardwood is coveted for making furniture.
